1.How to delete your account#
This applies to the account you use to sign in to the HAP app (package partners.hap.hangout) to browse events, buy tickets and pay at the venue.
- Open the app and sign in. Go to Profile → Settings → Account → Delete account.
- Read what happens below, type DELETE to confirm, and tap Delete my account. Your account is deactivated immediately — no waiting, no approval step.
- Can’t sign in? Email [email protected] from the phone number or email address on the account and ask us to close it for you. We respond within 30 days, same as any other rights request under our Privacy Policy.
2.What happens when you delete your account#
- Immediately: your account stops working and you are signed out on every device.
- Tickets you’ve already bought stay valid. Deleting your account does not cancel your admission to an event you’re already going to.
- 90 days to change your mind. Email [email protected] within that window and we can reopen the account.
- After 90 days, the account is permanently deleted and cannot be recovered.
3.What data is deleted, and what is kept#
Deleting your account does not delete every record connected to it. Some records are kept for the period Indian law requires, exactly as described in our Privacy Policy’s retention schedule — reproduced here for the fields this deletion flow actually affects.
| Data | What happens | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Your name, email, phone number and avatar | Deleted 90 days after closure | The window lets you change your mind and lets anything already in progress finish |
| Your signed-in sessions and login tokens | Revoked immediately on closure | They are the session — there is nothing to keep once it ends |
| Order, payment, invoice, refund and settlement records | Kept 8 years from the end of the relevant financial year | Books of account must be preserved for 8 years under the Companies Act, 2013; tax and GST records for up to 6 |
| Ticket and entry records | Kept 24 months after the event | Disputes about admission and chargebacks arise after the event, not during it |
Where we are required by law to keep a record after your account is gone, it is restricted to that purpose only — not used for marketing, not shown to anyone browsing the app.
